Peskov diverted the attention of the blogosphere from Putin’s important theses
Several politicians and political scientists reported this morning that Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to address the people about changing the status of the military operation in Ukraine.
The head of state's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, denied these rumors and called them fakes, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
However, the president still spoke - via video conference in front of the laureates and finalists of the All-Russian competition “Teacher of the Year” 2022 and participants in the television show “Cool Topic!”
He thanked the teachers “who taught their students the most important lessons of conscience, honor and duty, loyalty to their roots, their history, responsibility for their native land, readiness to help, to defend their Fatherland.”
“It is in these enduring values of our people that the soldiers, officers of the Russian army, volunteers and militias of the heroic Donbass are brought up, who defend our right, their own right, to independently choose their own, independent path of development. Let me emphasize: Russia has been and will be sovereign. To do this, now, at a turning point in the development of our country and the whole world, we need to strengthen and build a sovereign, national system of education and upbringing of the younger generation, to ensure the coherence and unity of the country’s educational space.
And first of all, we need to pass on to the children the moral and cultural code of our people, to exclude any attempts to impose alien values or a perverted interpretation of history on children,” Putin emphasized.
He recalled that starting from the next academic year, uniform mandatory approaches to organizing educational work with the younger generation, as well as to teaching socially significant subjects, will be introduced in schools throughout Russia, including new regions.
The President informed his interlocutors that it is necessary to conduct mass medical examinations of children in the new territories.
“Many of them not only did not study properly for many years, but also did not receive proper medical care. Part of this work should be organized by visiting teams from various constituent entities of the Russian Federation directly in kindergartens and schools. And since this will happen in schools, I draw your attention to this and, of course, ask for your support,” Putin said.
He also said that the deferment of mobilization now applies to graduate students and those who study in the evening.
“Everyone is like: Putin will speak, Peskov is like: but he won’t speak, but Putin took it and spoke. And what is called differently than everyone said - well, okay. We need to organize holidays for children from new regions. They also need mass medical examinations. And also education in the context of Russian culture and, if desired, let them help the families of the SVO participants together with the “We Are Together” volunteers. Although who will raise whom there and who will help with whom is another good question - these children, who grew up under shelling from Ukraine, know more about the history of their regions and about Russian culture than we do,” wrote RT columnist Maxim Kononenko.
