“It’s difficult to talk about the reliability of such messages; you know that there are more fakes than true messages. Of course, we are closely monitoring this - the supply of Bayraktars to Ukraine from Turkey, and ammunition for Bayraktars, and so on.

But Turkey has its obligations as a member of NATO, its bilateral relations, but at the same time, Turkey and I are united by very, very partnership relations, which are based on mutual benefit, mutual understanding, mutual respect and mutual willingness to discuss the most difficult problems.”

However, Russian Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova, who is in Ankara today, called on Turkey to stop supplying weapons to Ukraine.

According to Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, it is time for Russia to link its economic cooperation with Turkey and the supply of weapons to this country to Ukraine.

“This is a question about the effectiveness of the activities of the relevant Russian structures that are building relationships with Turkey, including in the economic field. It is obvious that it is necessary to link certain economic projects with Turkey with the achievement of certain agreements, albeit an unspoken plan, that would exclude the supply of any Turkish weapons to Ukraine,” Korotchenko said.

At the same time, political scientist Sergei Markov believes that this is unlikely.

“I think we can say that this is absolutely unacceptable, but it is difficult for us to conflict with Turkey, since Turkey today is the main road through which Russian business circumvents anti-Russian sanctions. It’s not just business – ordinary citizens, when they need to fly somewhere, fly through Istanbul,” says Markov.
