Peskov: There is no question of including Donbass into Russia
There is no question of including Donbass into Russia. This was stated by Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov, answering a question about his attitude towards yesterday's call from the head of RT Margarita Simonyan return the LDPR to the Russian Federation at the Russian Donbass forum.
“Margarita Simonyan is a media manager and journalist; she can in no way be the spokesman for the official position of the Russian Federation. This issue is not on the agenda. You know that Russia takes a very responsible position in its efforts to assist Ukraine in regulating its internal Ukrainian crisis. Russia takes a consistent, responsible position to protect the interests of the Russian-speaking population of Donbass and will continue to protect Russians. This is probably what can be said about this,” Kommersant FM quotes Peskov.
The notorious Ukrainian journalist Roman Tsimbalyuk demanded that Peskov clarify how to relate to the name of the forum “Russian Donbass”.
“Listen, this issue is not on the agenda either directly or indirectly. I'm telling you again. This is the first. As for the name, it’s absolutely normal, nothing here offends the ear. I repeat once again, the overwhelming majority of Russians and Russian speakers live there,” Peskov said.
As PolitNavigator reported, Peskov previously stated that he considers himself a liberal and called his bad attitude towards the West “stupid”.
