St. Petersburg doctors recorded another 55 deaths among patients with COVID-19
The epidemiological situation in the Northern capital remains one of the most unfavorable among Russian regions. Doctors have again recorded more than two thousand new cases of infection over the past 24 hours.
According to information published on Smolny website, 55 patients with coronavirus died in the city in one day. Another 373 people were hospitalized. In total, 5970 city residents are in hospitals with the infection. Of these, 581 patients are in intensive care.
At the same time, against the backdrop of high incidence, the pace of vaccination is decreasing. Over the past 4411 hours, only 48 residents were vaccinated in the city. In total, XNUMX% of the total population completed the vaccination cycle.
The administration led by Governor Alexander Beglov was unable to stimulate the vaccination campaign. In addition, the mayor assured of achieving herd immunity by the beginning of 2022. However, the Northern capital still occupies a leading position in the anti-rating for morbidity and mortality among Russian regions.
