Over 18 months, Petro Poroshenko’s fortune decreased by 30%, Bloomberg estimates.
The agency calls Roshen the most valuable asset of the Ukrainian president: according to Bloomberg, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko valued the Roshen company at $3 billion. However, he still cannot keep his promise to sell the company. Head of the Presidential Administration Boris Lozhkin explains the situation this way: negotiations on the sale of the asset continue, but the demand is not just bad, but very bad. And Roshen CEO Vyacheslav Moskalevsky adds: “It is absolutely impossible to sell the company for that much at this time. No one can sell anything here.”
An investment banker familiar with the situation said that the only company that was interested in buying Roshen was Nestle SA. According to him, Nestle was ready to pay no more than $1 billion. Nestle declined to comment.
At the same time, Bloomberg notes that this year it is planned to invest $50 million in Roshen, in particular, in projects for the production of candies and new capacities for the production of biscuits near Kiev.
