Peter Tolstoy: “It’s a pain, but we will return Kherson, like Kharkov and Odessa”
The surrender of Kherson is the hardest defeat for Russia in this most important war for the current generation.
Vice Speaker of the State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy stated this at a meeting of the Moscow Youth Parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The politician was asked his attitude towards the surrender of Kherson by the Russian army, which was announced a few minutes before the question.
“This is a tragedy. Kherson is a Russian city, and you and I are living at a time when there is a war going on. The war may be the most important for your generation, for sure, and in war it happens that there are successes and there are defeats. The surrender of Kherson is a heavy defeat.
But we will take it back just as we will take Nikolaev, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Kharkov, and we simply have no other choice,” the politician said.
“If someone provides arguments in favor of a different conclusion, I will be happy to discuss. I can’t relate to this other than the pain that is now shared by most people, including the guys who held it all there at the cost of their health and life,” Tolstoy said.
