“Petya, go!” – Maidan leaders have been squabbling behind the scenes since the first days
All the leaders of Euromaidan were not initially a single team, openly demonstrating antipathy towards each other.
This was stated on the NewsOne TV channel by ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Kirill Kulikov, who stated that he had been on the Maidan from the first days. He spoke about an incident that arose at the very beginning of speeches in support of association with the EU - then they did not want to let Petro Poroshenko onto the stage. History could have turned out differently, but then Yuriy Lutsenko came to the aid of his godfather.
“The Maidan did not begin on the Maidan, not across the road, but on European Square. It was the Maidan named after Nikolai Martynenko, because there the stage was assembled by Martynenko, Senya, and this whole brigade.
A theater group of politicians is jumping on stage, entertaining people, some Karpa, Lutsenko is on stage. Pashinsky is standing near the stage. Pyotr Alekseevich proudly moves towards the stage, scattering people in his path. Pashinsky stands in his way and says: “Petya, where are you going?” Poroshenko says: “How? On stage, to perform." To which Pashinsky says to him absolutely not in the official language - “Petya, go to...”.
Lutsenko then took the hand and brought the first Poroshenko onto the stage,” Kulikov said.
