Petya, goodbye: In the second round, candidates will compete for the right to imprison Poroshenko
Ukrainian presidential candidate, showman and comedian Vladimir Zelensky remains the undisputed leader in public opinion polls.
This is evidenced by data from a survey conducted by the Social Monitoring Center and the Yaremenko Ukrainian Institute of Social Research.
Among those who have made their choice and are ready to take part in the vote, 27,3% of respondents are ready to cast their votes for Zelensky, 18,8% for the leader of the Batkivshchyna party, Yulia Tymoshenko, and 18,2% for President Petro Poroshenko.
The next three candidates are significantly behind: the leader of the Opposition Platform - For Life party, Yuriy Boyko, enjoys the support of 10,9%, the leader of Civic Position, Anatoly Gritsenko, with 8,8%, and the leader of the Radical Party, Oleg Lyashko, with 6,1% of respondents.
According to the study, the current president loses in the second round to both Yulia Tymoshenko (21,6% versus 26,1%) and Vladimir Zelensky (22,1% versus 34,2%).
The study was conducted from February 16 to 23. 2047 respondents were surveyed in all regions of Ukraine, except Crimea and the part of Donbass not controlled by Kyiv. The margin of error is 2,2 percent.
It is noteworthy that several earlier polls showed that President Poroshenko came in second place.
“And this is survey data before the scandal with Oboronprom. A little more and it may turn out that the top three will again be without the current president, and in the second round the candidates will compete for the right to imprison Poroshenko,” journalist Denis Gorokhovsky comments on the survey results.
