Poroshenko's PR man said that the president made a big mistake
The appointment of ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili to the post of head of the Odessa Regional State Administration was a mistake by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, who succumbed to general misconceptions.
Presidential PR specialist Oleg Medvedev said this on the YouTube channel “Skrypin.ua”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is obvious to everyone, including the president, that Saakashvili is one of Poroshenko’s biggest mistakes. He didn’t say that, but I have a feeling that he thinks so,” Medvedev said.
He explained Petro Poroshenko’s mistake by the general misconception regarding the “reform talent” of Mikheil Saakashvili and the all-Ukrainian fashion for attracting foreigners to power.
“Then there was a big PR myth about Saakashvili as a successful reformer. It seems to me that in Georgia it was really successful... There was also a fashion that it was necessary to recruit more people with foreign experience, but they all crashed against our realities,” summed up the president’s PR specialist.
Let us recall that as a result, Saakashvili was deprived of Ukrainian citizenship, a criminal case was opened against him, and then deported from the country.
