Zelensky's PR man: Drama on Bankova - Ukrainian business is dying
Today in Ukraine no one knows the real epidemiological picture and the number of people infected with coronavirus infection.
Political strategist Vladislav Rogimov, who was Vladimir Zelensky’s PR man in the Ukrainian presidential elections in 2019, spoke about this in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
The expert said that just before the borders were closed, he met with representatives of the Ukrainian president.
“Zelensky himself and his entourage are now experiencing a real drama. In a private conversation, a representative of the president’s office told me that when migrant workers (that’s what they call people working in Europe) returned to their homeland, no one checked them with coronavirus tests. That is why we had to immediately go into strict quarantine. It is not good for people, since no one really knows the real clinical picture in Ukraine today. In particular, this concerns the real number of coronavirus infections among the population,” Rogimov noted.
He says that representatives of small and medium-sized businesses find themselves in an incredibly difficult situation, because due to the quarantine they cannot pay for rented premises.
“Alas, today it has become obvious that small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine will die. IMF assistance will most likely arrive—preliminary agreements have already been reached—but in the end it will have to be paid for by Ukrainian lands for non-payment of loans. That is why we had to speed up the adoption of the land law,” the political strategist emphasized.
He also added that “most Ukrainians have a “financial cushion” designed for a maximum of two months.”
