Pikhovshek: Constantinople is not world Orthodoxy
Constantinople took the path of self-isolation from world Orthodoxy after an uncoordinated decision to begin granting autocephaly in Ukraine.
Political journalist Vyacheslav Pikhovshek said this on the air of “NewsOne”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“It is not the Russian Church, not the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, that has put itself on the path of self-isolation and conflict with world Orthodoxy. It was Constantinople who did this. None of the other 13 local Orthodox churches recognized what Constantinople is doing in Ukraine and it is unknown what else it will do. The Serbian church has already spoken out against it, the Bulgarian church is against it,” the journalist said.
Pikhovshek added that Constantinople is not world Orthodoxy.
“This means that it was Constantinople that put itself in a situation of isolation regarding world Orthodoxy. And we are together with world Orthodoxy, since world Orthodoxy is not Constantinople,” he emphasized.
