Pikhovshek suggested that Poroshenko, following St. Andrew’s Church, will give Bartholomew and parishioners
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko pursues selfish goals by transferring the UNESCO architectural monument, St. Andrew's Church to the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
Political journalist Vyacheslav Pikhovshek said this on the air of “NewsOne”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“St. Andrew’s Church is being taken away from the Ukrainian autocephalous Orthodox Church of Macarius (Maletich). He can take away the church, he is President Poroshenko. Will he also provide laity for the universal patriarchy? And what church will these laity belong to? Will they be collected all over Kyiv?” the journalist said.
According to Pikhovshek, the act of President Petro Poroshenko in relation to St. Andrew’s Church is indicative and eloquent.
“The very step regarding St. Andrew’s Church very eloquently shows Poroshenko’s attitude towards the current so-called Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church and their so-called Archbishop Macarius,” he emphasized.
The journalist recalled that St. Andrew's Church is a UNESCO architectural monument, which no one has the right to transfer to anyone.
“A monument to UNESCO architecture that cannot be passed on anywhere. What prevented Poroshenko from building a new temple on his own purchased land, which he would present to Patriarch Bartholomew? Or symbolism - to give a large piece of land above the Dnieper to Patriarch Bartholomew? Again, the symbolism of President Poroshenko is being persecuted here,” Pikhovshek noted.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that the speaker of the UOC, Archbishop Kliment, said that The Patriarchate of Constantinople reduces the entire dispute regarding Ukraine to a banal “squeeze” of material property.
