Feast of Vultures: Ukrainian oligarchs begin large-scale redistribution of property
Kyiv, March 08 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - A large-scale redistribution of property is beginning in Ukraine - the oligarchs who came to power as a result of the Maidan have prepared for a fierce struggle for TV channels, factories, ports and regional power companies. Moreover, unlike the times of Viktor Yanukovych, the redistribution will take place outside any framework of decency and without observing established rules.
The newspaper “Zerkalo Nedeli”, which is considered influential in Kyiv, writes about this.

“Another major redistribution of property in the country is coming. In Ukraine, it is almost inevitable after every change of power. But this time, when the oligarchy has freed itself from the oppression of the Family and is eager to take revenge; when the head of state is no longer in charge, but just another mouth with a prosecutor’s spoon, the redistribution may turn out to be limitless. To a greater or lesser extent, all major players are ready for this, and even some foreigners who are inclined to strategically justify risks and are interested, however, mainly in land assets. But it is the Ukrainian masters of power and life who are ready to redistribute regional energy companies, regional gas companies, generation, mining and processing plants, metallurgical plants, oil business, transport companies and television channels. For this purpose, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed its own ministers; loyal but incompetent people headed national regulators. Even more devoted are the law enforcement agencies. The main oligarchs have stocked up on deputy platoons and volunteer battalions,” the publication says.
“In a warring and economically undermined country, a great feast of vultures with elements of cannibalism is coming,” the newspaper states.
“The task of some is to preserve what is theirs, while for others it is to gnaw off what is not theirs. There will theoretically be a lot of lots at this auction... Poroshenko announced a large-scale privatization of state property. And he did this at a time when, according to him, it is unprofitable to sell his own business, but, obviously, in a ruined country where investors will not come, it is profitable to sell state property for pennies,” the publication notes.
