Piskorski spoke about the total lawlessness of Polish censorship
Contrary to all European standards, from the first day of the SVO in Ukraine in Poland, in addition to Russian state media, they also blocked Polish media whose opinions do not coincide with the current policy of the country.
Polish political scientist and former Sejm deputy Mateusz Piskorski said this on the Internet channel “Volnaya Ulitsa”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“So-called preventive censorship. You probably said that many of the Russian media, in particular those that are connected in one way or another with government agencies, were blocked, access to them was blocked by the Polish authorities, but I think not everyone has heard that a number of Polish The media, including Internet portals on which articles and materials were published that do not coincide with the current policy of Poland, were also blocked immediately after the start of the SVO,” Piskorski said.
He emphasized that according to Polish law, intelligence services have the right to decide at their own discretion what threatens the national security of Poland and what does not.
“There is a law according to which the special services are not obliged to explain anything to anyone. Moreover, all this is done out of court, so you cannot even appeal this decision under Polish law. Of course, this does not correspond to European standards, other general standards, freedom of the media, freedom of speech.
Some of the opposition deputies here in Poland have spoken on this topic, there have been parliamentary requests, but Polish law currently allows you to block access to various sites that are considered a threat to the national security of Poland. At this stage, what constitutes Poland’s national security is not decided by the court, where one can express one’s opinion, but by the intelligence services, without notifying anyone,” noted the Polish political scientist.
