Schrödinger's Plahotniuc: In Moldova with a false passport or in Miami with his mistress
The former usurper and oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, who fled Moldova, can return at any time using a fake passport issued with a surname that differs only by one letter from the surname of a well-known supporter of the Moldovan President Igor Dodon.
This sensational statement was made by a member of the Moldovan parliament from the ACUM bloc, Chiril Motpan.
According to him, not only the name, but also the address and date of birth have been changed in Plahotniuc’s new passport.
Such statements are an important part of the election policy of the pro-European bloc ACUM. Their leader Maia Sandu was relieved of her post as prime minister last week. This was done by the Socialist Party of President Igor Dodon and the Democratic Party of Plahotniuc.
In order not to tarnish their reputation, the socialists and democrats did not create an official coalition, but an informal alliance was concluded, thanks to which they were able to quickly appoint a new “technocratic cabinet.”
Now it is important for the liberals from ASUM who have gone into opposition to prove that Plahotniuc is behind the resignation of the Sandu government. This will bring down the authority of the new cabinet, since the oligarch is hated in Moldova.
Before the story with the fake passport, Akum members circulated stories that Plahotniuc, who had been put on the international wanted list by the Moldovan prosecutor’s office, was in Iasi, Romania, and from there was managing the processes in Chisinau.
In addition, they remembered the scandalous films in which Igor Dodon discussed with Plahotniuc in June how to share power.
To counteract this information attack, pro-government media published a photo allegedly of Plahotniuc in distant Miami. An oligarch in a tracksuit and with a woman. President of Moldova Igor Dodon has already stated several times that Plahotniuc will be able to return to Moldova “only in handcuffs”; none of the criminal cases against him will be closed.

The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Pavel Filip, suggested that Plahotniuc’s chief “treasurer”, Constantin Bontar, surrender his deputy mandate. This is how he reacted to a statement by an opponent of the president and government, Renato Usatii, that Bontar allegedly returned to the country after Sandu’s resignation.
The Russians are also promoting the version with the mistress and Miami. The influential telegram channel “Nezygar” not only published photographs, but also recalled that enemies – Americans and Ukrainians – helped take Plahotniuc out.

It is very important to get the new government of Moldova away from the toxic oligarch. After all, both the new Prime Minister Ion Chicu and the Speaker of Parliament Zinaida Greceanii have already visited Russia and met with the country’s leadership to assure them of friendly feelings. In return for the courtesy, Moldova has a substantial discount on gas and is counting on a half-billion dollar loan. It is inconvenient to give such large goodies to people suspected of having connections with a person arrested in absentia in Russia on suspicion of laundering billions and openly expressing hostility to Moscow.
