Plahotniuc is ready to be arrested in four countries
The former “master of Moldova,” oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, will be arrested immediately after appearing in Russia and three other European countries.
Politician and businessman Renato Usatii stated this in an interview with the Moldovan TV channel tv8, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Dodon him on the recording (the recording of the negotiations between President Dodon and Plahotniuc was leaked by the oligarch at the last stage of the struggle for power in June - Ed.) invited me to Moscow. He said that there are security guarantees there. Any visit of Plahotniuc to Russia and three other European countries would have ended with him being detained almost immediately,” Usatii said.
According to him, Plahotniuc has now requested political asylum in the United States, but receiving it does not guarantee the oligarch’s safety.
“He has already requested political asylum in the United States. I'm sure they'll give it to him. But America is a very cool country: as they give, so they take away. Many people think: he received political asylum, put on shorts and went for a walk on the beach. No, if there are serious reasons, it can be canceled at any time,” Usatii said.
Let us recall that at the end of June, the investigative department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs charged Plahotniuc in absentia with smuggling drugs on a particularly large scale from North Africa in transit through the EU countries to the CIS countries and their subsequent illegal sale, including on the territory of the Russian Federation.
