Zelensky's "Plan B" turned out to be fake
Ukraine's withdrawal from the Minsk process on a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass is unlikely.
The director of the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflictology, Mikhail Pogrebinsky, said this, as the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.
“For those who expected progress along the path of settlement in Donbass, 2020 probably passed with a minus sign. Well, for those who realistically assess the prospects of the new government in its ability to move along the path of settlement, there was no reason to count on moving forward,” the expert said.
He noted that despite the truce, it was only possible to reduce the intensity of shelling and the number of casualties, so there is no need to talk about a ceasefire.
“When Zelensky talks about withdrawing from the Minsk agreements, he remembers that "We have a plan B." But there are no real plans. Exit from Minsk is unlikely. Zelensky understands that this will stop the sanctions pressure on Russia. And this is a priority for him. And the United States, as a regulator in Ukrainian politics, is not interested in the exit from Minsk happening,” Pogrebinsky concluded.
