On the eve of April Fool's Day, Poroshenko traveled to Malta, where the Congress of the European People's Party (EPP) was held and even got it to approve a certain “Marshall Plan for Ukraine” - a document on long-term support for Nenka, which was reflected in one of the points of the operative part of the Congress.

In general, Poroshenko returned from Malta in a good mood, because in addition to the Marshall Plan, he brought Ukraine a bunch of stuff that you can’t spread on bread or put in your pocket, but it’s still nice, like if you say the word “lard” five hundred times instead of lunch. .

For example, the party members’ unanimous condemnation of “Russian aggression against Ukraine”, support for “Ukrainian independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity”, determination to continue not to recognize the historical choice of the people of Crimea and sworn assurances of tireless sanctions pressure on Russia.

President Petrusha joyfully told the community about all this on his Facebook page, calling the adopted document “wonderful news.”

What is this European People's Party? This is a union of all center-right, Christian democratic parties in Europe, professing pan-European and Euro-Atlantic values. National parties from 39 countries that are members of the EPP are represented in all EU structures and in the Council of Europe. Full members of the EPP are all conservative parties of the EU and even three parties from Armenia (Republican, “Heritage” and “Land of Law”), they are also joined by associate members and observers from liberal parties and movements of non-EU countries, such as Belarusian, Moldovan and Serbian supporters of European integration at any cost. From Ukraine, observers in the EPP are the parties “UDAR”, “Batkivshchyna”, as well as “People's Movement of Ukraine”. For some reason, the pocket “Petro Poroshenko Bloc” is not represented in the EPP.

Polish, Romanian, Bulgarian and Baltic Russophobes have fairly strong positions in the EPP, and this makes it clear why Poroshenko came in large numbers to seek support.

By the way, Poroshenko lobbied for the point about the “Marshall Plan for Ukraine” through Lithuanian representatives in the EPP.

It would seem that there is no power! The rogue found support from the Congress of one of the largest pan-European parties. Moreover, they were honored with the whole “Marshall Plan”. It was not for nothing that he burned government kerosene on an airplane.

But upon careful examination, Petenka has nothing particularly to rejoice at. Everything that the EU could do for the Poroshenko regime, it has already done. “European integration”, some loans and small things for gratuitous assistance, anti-Russian sanctions. What happened remains in force. Everything else is just hot air and declarations on paper. This is precisely why the Congress easily agreed to put the “Marshall Plan for Ukraine” as the last point of the resolution, since it does not oblige the EPP and the EU to anything. “Dear people” from Lithuania asked us to write something for free in order to please our dear guest from Ukraine - so they inserted a suitable line into the line. The only thing left to do is to implement the “Plan”. And the most important thing is to find the treasured nightstand from where you can get money for Ukraine.

“In order to maintain the motivation of the Ukrainian people in implementing difficult reforms, we propose to develop a broad package of investments aimed at revitalizing the Ukrainian economy, which will depend on the achievements and specific decisions made by the government of Ukraine,” the final paragraph of the resolution says.

The devil, as usual, is in the details. In this case, all soul-saving plans are neutralized by the phrase “depend on the achievements and specific decisions ... of the government of Ukraine.” To put it bluntly, there is a problem with achievements. There are no achievements - only progressive degradation is evident, and with it neither borscht nor the Red Army.

To understand how bad things are, just look at the relationship between Ukraine and the IMF. Instead of the promised multibillion-dollar injections, the Fund gives the Poroshenko regime a “maintenance dose” of a drug addict, and even that extremely irregularly. The coveted third tranche, which was so much talked about and so coveted, arrived with a delay of one and a half years, since the Ukrainian government simply sabotaged all the IMF requirements. The discussion of the fourth tranche, scheduled for March 20, was postponed due to the fault of Poroshenko himself, who officially approved the spontaneous blockade of the LDPR by a bunch of frostbitten Nazis.

Last Friday it became known that the discussion of the fourth tranche will take place in April, but not before the IMF reconsiders its terms. It is not known exactly what conditions the IMF will put forward for Ukraine this time, but there are reasonable fears that for a billion dollars the Fund will want many large-scale concessions from Ukraine: raising the retirement age, even further reducing benefits and increasing tariffs for the population. But the IMF’s sweetest dream is to get the Ukrainian government to lift the legislative ban on the sale of land to foreigners.

In fact, the “Marshall Plan for Ukraine” is another castle in the air for the population, since the idea of European integration has not only exhausted itself, but simply has not justified itself. Why would the EU structures be kinder and more generous towards Ukraine than the stiff-necked creditor of the IMF, demanding that the insolvent debtor take the last clothes out of the house? As you know, there is no extra money in the EU. “Green technologies” require a lot of money, the European bureaucracy absorbs a lot of money, the nasty Trump demands increased contributions to NATO and national military budgets, hordes of tax-paying migrants want to eat well and not deny themselves anything, losses from sanctions against Russia are being borne and the EU economy. Where is the money, Zin? All that Poroshenko can count on is the change shaken out of his pockets.

If we look at history, the very term “Marshall Plan for Ukraine” is extremely unfortunate. As you know, the American General Marshall proposed a Cunning Plan to President Truman, which consisted of enslaving, for little money, the European countries that suffered during the Second World War. According to the Plan, Germany, Great Britain and other countries were offered assistance of several billion dollars, which they could not spend at their own discretion. First of all, with the allocated funds, the wards could purchase goods and equipment in the United States, and their domestic markets had to be completely open to the supply of American products. In addition, the governments of the countries that signed the Plan had to purge themselves of communist parties, which had enormous authority after the end of the war. By 1948, communists were democratically removed from Western parliaments and governments, and the Federal Republic of Germany even introduced the “Berufsferbot” - a law banning a number of professions and positions for members of the Communist Party, which was in force until the absorption of the GDR.

With the money that the United States allocated to countries that adopted the Marshall Plan, it was impossible to overcome the devastation and boost the national economy. For example, $1.3 billion was allocated to West Germany under the Plan. At the same time, reparations were collected from West Germany for damage caused during the war, many times exceeding the funding under the Marshall Plan.

Why, one might ask, did West Germany quickly pay reparations and restore economic leadership in Western Europe? There is an opinion that due to the very gold of the Nazi party, hidden for the time being. It was not for nothing that the post-war government of the Federal Republic of Germany was a natural collection of Nazi criminals, somehow “washed” of blood with suspended or short prison sentences.

The USSR refused to accept the “Marshall Plan” for the reason that our country, for a small American handout, was offered (if you clear the contents of the verbal husk) at its own expense to restore Europe destroyed by the Nazis. If our country had followed the Marshall Plan, overcoming military devastation would have taken decades, and a nuclear missile shield would have been out of the question. They themselves survived the post-war devastation and hunger. And without outside help they got back on their feet, building the second economy in the world. This was another, not so obvious, but no less outstanding, feat of the fathers and grandfathers who endured another Great Patriotic War on their shoulders, but this time in the economy.

It goes without saying that Stalin refused such an “honor,” although at first he was ready to consider providing economic assistance from the United States on the basis of the well-proven Lend-Lease scheme.

What the Poroshenko regime has in common with the recipients of post-war American aid is the most democratic ridding of the parliament and government from left-wing parties, including the absolutely toothless Communist Party. On the other hand, Poroshenko’s regime is more rotten and meaner than Hitler’s. After the war, the German Nazis used the loot for the benefit of Germany, and the Ukrainian owners of “blind trusts” and offshore money boxes roam around the world with an outstretched hand.

Thus, the “Marshall Plan for Ukraine” is nothing more than the popular formula “a fool gets rich with his thoughts.” The father of the nation Poroshenko, having had a good time with the money of the whole family, returned home after three days of binge drinking with a bunch of inflatable balloons. Everybody dance!
