Kyiv, May 24 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Joining NATO is the only way to protect Ukraine from inclusion in the Russian Empire, the restoration of which Vladimir Putin is seeking.

Presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko stated this on the First National TV Channel.

“If Ukraine does not make this civilizational choice, there will always be a threat of war, as life shows,” she said.

“A real, undeclared hybrid war is being waged against Ukraine,” Tymoshenko added.

“During the Cold War, we were forced to think that NATO is evil, it’s war, it’s all the worst things in the world. I myself was born in Dnepropetrovsk, I lived a significant part of my life in Eastern Ukraine. But we must say today that we need to radically reconsider this. NATO is not war, it is peace, it is defense,” she asserts.

“Putin does not abandon his plan to restore old empires at the cost of blood, at the cost of aggression,” Tymoshenko emphasized.
