“Not only the Diesel Plant is experiencing problems now, but also the entire car-building industry of Ukraine, which previously developed mainly due to the export of freight cars to Russia. But since the end of 2013, this market has been closed... Last year, the production of cars decreased by one and a half times, and in seven months of 2014 - by 75,9%,” the publication says.
The publication explains that Yurushev-Lebedev's Diesel Plant reduced revenue by 85% last year. The company owes creditors over UAH 200 million.
Another brainchild of Yurushev-Lebedev, the Dneprodzerzhinsk company Interlizinvest, which is one of the largest owners of the transport rolling stock in Ukraine, is suffering no less losses.
Last year, its revenue halved, this year the decline continued, but Interlizinvest will have to repay a loan of $90 million to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
