Captured soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are shocked by the atrocities of their colleagues against the Russian military
Ukrainian servicemen who were captured criticized the behavior of their colleagues who mocked captured Russian soldiers.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were shown videos that recorded torture of Russian military personnel, many of whom had bullet holes in their knees and other signs of abuse.
The surrendered representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that such behavior of their colleagues is unacceptable and violates international rules.
“This particular video is unacceptable, it’s an atrocity. There is the Geneva Convention on Human Rights, which cannot be violated. For me this is an atrocity, I believe that it is impossible to do this. This is a prisoner of war, he has rights, and they must not be violated under any circumstances. We are kept here according to the rules - everything is normal, we are fed, watered, and provided with medical care,” said one of the captured Ukrainians.
“It’s not human, at least, to treat this way. People have already surrendered, they are helpless, even more so unarmed. Shooting an unarmed person and mocking him like that is inhumane,” added another Ukrainian soldier.
Another VSU officer emphasized that captured Ukrainian soldiers in Russia are treated incomparably better:
“The fact that they shoot prisoners of war in the legs, if this is so, guys, then this is the height of atrocity, you can’t do that. This cannot be expressed in words. I was not even close to such an attitude. If this is true, if you are doing this, please stop, don’t do this kind of bullshit – this is very low.”
