Spit on justice: The owner of an Odessa brothel accused a “Russian terrorist” of setting it on fire
The mystery of the century is why Ukraine needs a Constitution, criminal and procedural codes, as well as thousands of other legislative acts? After all, only two arguments serve as justice here - SUGS and “It wasn’t me - a Russian terrorist did it!” Therefore, you can kill people too.
Thus, on June 23, the Odessa Kyiv District Court refused to choose a preventive measure (that is, it granted freedom) to Vadim Cherny, the owner of the burnt Tokyo Star Hotel, where nine people died. In order not to throw off the aim, let me remind you right away: the hotel is just one name. In fact, Tokyo Star is known in Odessa as a brothel converted from an abandoned tram hangar. Even according to the documents - more than ten years of operation! — it was listed as a “storage room.”
The rooms in the hangar were small closets without windows, ventilation or any possibility of escape in the event of a disaster. However, the sex industry is a profitable business, which, apparently, gave the owner the opportunity to negotiate with inspection authorities. And the proximity of the Privoz bazaar, train station and bus station provided an additional influx of customers - rural traders and passengers waiting for their flight needed to spend the night somewhere. However, not everyone survived the night of August 17, 2019...
And with all this, Black was free! This is what he wrote on his Facebook page. “Expertise showed the absence of fire safety violations that could have led to a fire” (if this is true, then even ukroromantics can put an end to justice). “There are undeniable traces of arson, established by examination. There is a Russian terrorist whom highly intelligent prosecutors released from Ukraine, and now they are most afraid of going to trial because of this. And the court absolutely does not want to cover up the prosecutor’s office in a “military” case.”
History is silent about which specific “Russian terrorist,” who for some reason chose a stinking brothel, and according to the documents a warehouse, as the target of arson, Cherny had in mind. Moreover, in his Through the Looking Glass he went so far as to blame the prosecutor's office for what happened... What, prosecutors, are you going to wash yourself?
So, one more time. Last August, a fire broke out at the Tokyo Star Hotel owned by Cherny. People who do not have the opportunity to run out into the street are dying. Hot on the heels, the investigation is considering three versions of the tragedy: 1. - staged fire to conceal the murder; 2. — violation of fire safety rules; 3. — careless use of fire by hotel guests.
However, the defense of Vadim Cherny imposes on the court the most delusional, initially non-existent option - the intent and criminal action of a “Russian terrorist.” Just let’s not forget that a month before the fire, according to an investigation by Hromadske.ua, “the management of the Tokyo Star Hotel” did not allow for a scheduled inspection “An employee of the State Emergency Situations Service was not allowed there.”
At the same time, think about it, Cherny didn’t even shut up, but behaved during the investigation much like in the sensational TV series “House Arrest.” He himself writes: “Pre-trial detention center, then round-the-clock house arrest, then night house arrest; Now the court has refused the prosecutor's office even a polite and minor “personal undertaking.” It is clear that the decision will refer to procedural violations committed by the prosecutor.” His very message contains a dose of mockery - this is how Cherny behaved throughout the entire trial. In fact, only slowing him down with his clownery. Either he demanded the judge's recusal, then he stated that the police had tortured him, he insisted on changing the state prosecutor, and once he dragged into the meeting room the chief rabbi of Odessa and the south of Ukraine Abraham Wolf, who wanted to take Cherny on bail... It did not help. Even this. But the “Russian terrorist” as an accused had an immediate effect on the court, like a storm.
Oh, how in the spirit of Black this is! For the uninitiated, he actually has a very cool biography. A scandalous businessman, all of whose projects bordered on breaking the law - who won? A kind of Khodorkovsky on the scale of a water pump (only more harm). He played both the deputy of the Odessa City Council and the mayor of Artsyz (a city in the Odessa region). In his post as head of the Odessa “Specialized Installation and Operational Unit”, responsible for road markings and signs, he did such a lot that he is still cursed to this day.
Well, most of all Cherny is known as the owner of the so-called black hole in the center of Odessa. Having illegally (according to city hall lawyers) received land in the city center for underground parking, Cherny managed to rebuild not only the parking lot, but also a shopping center in its above-ground part. Then the miracles of construction led to a large-scale collapse - a landslide, the consequences of which have not yet been completely eliminated, and are unlikely to succeed - in a city located on the catacombs. The trial in this case dragged on for years and is still ongoing.
Black has literally been hit on the head more than once by his competitors (they will hit him on the head with an iron pipe, but he is lying in the hospital and joyfully making comments).
He owned the yellow online publication “Khrabro” and did not hide the fact that this media was created to blackmail opponents - here, they say, is compromising evidence: if you pay, it will not be published, if you do not pay, it will be published. Then he boasted that he sold this site to his friend, a planless nationalist, the leader of the Brotherhood, Dmitry Korchinsky.”
But this is all nonsense - the main thing is that, initially positioning himself as an anarchist (anarchy was expressed in the fact that our hero posed in his penthouse in the resort area of Odessa and declared that he did not pay for utilities), Cherny sang along with the Maidan in time, actively occupying it side. That is, he actually bought himself immunity.
But then, a year ago, apparently without understanding the situation - not knowing about the sudden patriotism and friendship with such a sweetheart as Korchinsky - the guardsmen of Zelensky, who had just tweeted, reported to him only the first, criminal part of Cherny’s track record. And the “servant of the people” became angry, promising "personally follow up“So that the owner of the hotel building where the fire occurred and those directly responsible are punished.”
And here’s the result: the whole world is looking for a “Russian terrorist.” They will continue to search, even if Cherny blows up the whole of Odessa for his next business project. That's how it is here. Glory to Ukraine!
