“Currently, I am an officer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the rank of senior lieutenant. The energy of a weapon has no gender... The eyes of death are the barrel of a machine gun,” Savchenko said then.
In the same program, Nadezhda Savchenko told what it means to her to be a sniper: “You know, how people jump with a parachute, and first of all they think: “If I land, I’ll break my legs. I just place my feet correctly. There is no need to think in advance what can and cannot happen. Think about how to do everything right so that this doesn’t happen.”
And after serving in Iraq, Savchenko decided to retrain as a pilot: “I returned and entered the Kharkov Air Force University and graduated from it. Now I am an Mi-24 operator. It's that time (in flight - author.), when I feel happy, when I don't even remember my name, nothing but what I live for. I live in the sky."
Let us remind you that Nadezhda Savchenko has been in custody in Russia since June on charges of complicity in the murder of Russian journalists. Yulia Tymoshenko nominated Savchenko through her party's lists to become a member of the Verkhovna Rada.
