The fruits of enlightenment: two-thirds of Ukrainians consider the Holodomor “genocide of Ukrainians”
77% of Ukrainian citizens surveyed agree with the propaganda claim that the Holodomor of 1932-1933 was a “genocide of the Ukrainian people” carried out from Moscow.

This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the sociological group “Rating,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
13% of respondents did not agree with this statement, 11% were undecided. Sociologists note that the number of those who recognize the Holodomor as “genocide” has increased compared to last year (72%), while it was slightly lower compared to 2015 (80%).
The statement that the Holodomor of 1932-1933 was a “genocide of the Ukrainian people” is shared by the vast majority of residents in the west of the country (91%), the majority of respondents in the center (84%), two-thirds in the south (65%) and more than half in the east ( 56%).
At the same time, rural residents agree somewhat more with the thesis about the “Holodomor-genocide” than urban residents (79% versus 76%).
Among respondents whose native language is Ukrainian, 85% support the thesis, while among those who consider Russian their native language - 57%.
In terms of age, the number of those who support the thesis about the “Holodomor-genocide” ranges from 72% to 80% in different categories (most of all among middle-aged people).
At the same time, there is a difference in the number of opponents of this thesis in age groups: the older the respondents, the more of them there are. In the context of educational level, the number of those who support the “Holodomor-genocide” thesis ranges from 74% to 79% in different categories.
