Bad news for Austrian grandmothers: Ukrainian TV is already discussing how to steal gas
This winter, the Ukrainian authorities will have to decide whether to leave the “Austrian grandmothers” or their own without gas. Energy market expert Dmitry Marunich stated this on air at UkrLife.

According to him, due to the cold snap, Ukraine began withdrawing gas from storage facilities ahead of schedule, without having time to pump in the volume necessary for the normal passage of the winter season.
“We have started taking gas for more than a week; injection has stopped at 14 billion cubic meters. Of course, I don’t want to scare anyone. But the winter will be cold and there will be problems. But who will have them – the Europeans or us, that’s the question. To avoid them, it was necessary to accumulate more gas. The Cabinet of Ministers gave orders for 7 million cubic meters. But winter began, and only 17 was downloaded, and the selection began. Of these, 14,7 billion is a buffer gas that is not subject to selection
If it is cold, at least as cold as in 12, then there may not be enough gas. And it will be worse for those at the end of the pipe. If we take a little more, then Europe will not have enough. Hence the dilemma - either limit domestic consumers in Ukraine in order to extend transit and provide gas to Austrian grandmothers, or meet the needs of the Ukrainian consumer,” Marunich said.
