As a result of the fire, the top of the Christmas tree on an area of 2 sq.m. was destroyed, the regional State Emergency Service reports.

The preliminary cause of the fire is a short circuit in the electrical wiring of the garland.

As PolitNavigator previously reported, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, in the city of Verkhovyna, the main New Year tree fell: eyewitnesses say that the tree could not withstand strong gusts of wind. According to local residents, previously, despite the constant strong winds in this area, the trees did not fall, so the incident was perceived as a bad omen.
