It is possible to resist the persecution of the Serbian Orthodox Church by the authorities of Montenegro only through the church line. The famous preacher Archpriest Andrei Tkachev told PolitNavigator about this.

“As we see from recent history, opposition to such things can only be carried out through the church line. If the authorities behave like gangsters towards the Church, as we see in Ukraine, then only church unity and prayer can counteract this. We have no other ways and means to fight the authorities. In Montenegro, the same scenario as in Ukraine is being worked out by the enemies of the Orthodox Church. The church has no choice but to close ranks and continue praying,” said Father Andrei.

He believes that world Orthodoxy will demonstrate the same unity on the Montenegrin issue as on the Ukrainian one.

“You can always grow upward. I wish there was more. But even that is, it is quite serious. There is no split in the Orthodox world regarding the Ukrainian issue. Only Constantinople with the schismatics on one side, everyone else on the other. This in itself is significant. The same will happen with Montenegro, most likely. But the scenario is the same and, apparently, the model of behavior should be the same,” Tkachev said.

Let us recall that the Montenegrin authorities began a campaign against the Serbian Orthodox Church, initiating a law that implies the confiscation of all real estate of the Serbian Orthodox Church and their transfer to state ownership. The initiator was the government of the country, with the support of President Milo Djukanovic.

The bill stipulates that all churches and monasteries built before December 1, 1918, when, according to the new official historical propaganda, the so-called “occupation” of Montenegro by the kingdom of the CXC - Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, and subsequently by Yugoslavia - will become the property of the state.

Thus, the Montenegrin authorities declared claims to the main shrines of the Orthodox Church, such as the monastery of St. Basil of Ostrog, Cetinje and other monasteries, as well as churches of the Montenegrin-Litoval Metropolis of the SOC.

As in Ukraine, in Montenegro the authorities, with the support of the West, are lobbying for the creation of their own religious “Orthodox” structure - the schismatic Montenegrin Orthodox Church. It is possible that the taken property should subsequently go to her.
