In the Boeing MH17 case, Russia will treat Ukraine in any court – Belkovsky
Ukraine has no evidence of any instructions from the Russian leadership regarding the downing of the Malaysian Boeing MH17 over Donbass in 2014, and it was Kyiv that did not close the sky over the territory where the fighting was taking place.
Russian liberal political scientist Stanislav Belkovsky stated this on the Kyiv YouTube channel “Vlast vs Vlashchenko,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia will state that, in accordance with international rules, legislation and aviation regulations, responsibility for the aviation accident lies with the party in whose airspace the accident occurred, that is, Ukraine.
It doesn’t matter who shot down the Boeing, Ukraine did not block the airspace in the zone of armed conflict and therefore it is responsible.
The second thing that will be stated by the Russian side: there is not a single document that would confirm that the Russian leadership gave any instructions regarding the Boeing, and a gang of crazy people could have shot down the airliner, right?
And what, the Russian State should be responsible for any gang of crazy people just because they are opponents of official Kyiv and so on? No, they shouldn’t,” the expert concludes.
“Russia will put pressure on this, and Ukraine needs to prepare to refute this position, and not say that “everything is clear anyway.” Yes, politically everything is clear, but legally everything is not completely clear,” Belkovsky added.
