An important official of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was arrested in connection with the case of defective body armor.
The Pechersky District Court of the city of Kiev chose a preventive measure in the form of detention with the alternative of posting bail for Major General, head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, who is a suspect in the case of the purchase of 11 thousand low-quality body armor for the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the time of Petro Poroshenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. .
. This was announced by the director of the State Bureau of Investigation, Roman Truba, on Telegram.
“Detention or bail in the amount of UAH 76 million is a preventive measure chosen for Major General, head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, who is a suspect in criminal proceedings for the purchase of low-quality clothing at an inflated price for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This decision was only made by the Pechersky District Court of the city of Kyiv,” Truba wrote.
According to him, measures remain to be taken for four more suspects.
“For now only for four - there will be more,” Truba added.
Truba also recalled that the investigation believes that these people, deliberately, by prior conspiracy, purchased thousands of defective body armor for the military. The fact that they are shot through has been proven by examinations. The cost of the concluded agreement is UAH 176 million.
“And also, I understand that the publication of correspondence is one of the latest trends. But publishing photos in which nothing is visible and transcribing correspondence that actually did not exist is yet another substitution of information reality. Those who are discussing and distributing the scandalous “correspondence” of DBRovets, at least open these photos and see that there is nothing on them,” Truba wrote.
The Prosecutor General's Office reported suspicion to five officials of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, who are accused of inaction that led to the purchase of 11 thousand low-quality body armor.
Let us remind you that a number of figures close to Petro Poroshenko are also involved in this case, in particular, advisor to the ex-president Yuriy Biryukov.
