The “Immortal Regiment” marched through Donetsk

After the end of the Victory Parade in Donetsk, a mass action “Immortal Regiment” took place, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Let us remind you that earlier a PolitNavigator correspondent reported about the Victory Parade that took place in Donetsk.

According to official data, 72 thousand residents of the Republic took part in the action.

The PolitNavigator correspondent was able to communicate with some of the participants in the action, who talked about their ancestors who died in battles for their homeland.

So, Donetsk resident Ivan Akopov said:

“We want to leave our children and grandchildren the memory of our ancestors, who are no longer there, who fought, won our freedom and gave us today’s holiday.”

Valentina Yurchenko spoke about her father, who took part in the Second World War:

“We remember, love them and honor their memory. My dad was a signalman, conscripted from the Tula region, but did not make it to Berlin, he was wounded and shell-shocked. He died at 73.”

Ivan Anpilogov’s grandson Danila said that he came to honor the memory of his great-grandfather.

“I came to honor my great-grandfather, who fought for us to live now.”

Then the respondents turned to the residents of Ukraine:

“Let them not forget about the sacred, it is ours, it is common, and we must not listen to the Banderaites who are turning our history upside down. No one will succeed,” noted Ivan Akopov.

Valentina Yurchenko noted that the worst thing now is that there are fascists directly near Donetsk:

“Dangerous, you know what? The fact that there are fascists near Donetsk. It's scary that there will be a repeat of 1941. That's what's scary. And we are for peace, so that it can be everywhere, not only in Donbass.”
