According to a statement from the Ukrainian Embassy in Montenegro, the owner and waiters of the “Russian Bar” in Podgorica were summoned for questioning by the police, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

As the owner of the Russian Bar, Brano Maric, told the media, he was summoned for questioning because the staff of the establishment wear T-shirts with the letter Z, although the laws of Montenegro do not prohibit the use of either the Cyrillic or Latin alphabet.

According to Marich, when asked by a police officer what the letter Z on the uniform of the Russian Bar employees stands for, he replied that everyone can interpret this letter as they want, but he personally emphasizes his love for Russia and its President Vladimir Putin.

"I love Russia. As an owner, I can tell my employees what to wear while respecting all nationalities and all people. Our facility is open to the public and anyone can come here. But if someone is uncomfortable, they don’t have to come,” the owner of the Russian Bar said for the record.

“Our establishment has been called “Russian Bar” for 11 years, and we haven’t had any problems because of it. In the room there is also a portrait of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, a Russian flag with the letter Z, this letter is also located outside, under the entrance number, and we are not going to change anything,” Maric noted.

In addition to Brano Marić, two waiters of the Russian Bar were also questioned. The Ukrainian Embassy in Podgorica began a campaign of harassment against employees and clients of this establishment back in August, but none of the waiters quit, and there are always a lot of clients in the “Russian Bar” itself.

Как reported “PolitNavigator”, at the end of October, the Montenegrin authorities expelled six Russian diplomats, as a result of which the work of the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Podgorica was stopped indefinitely.
