Following the results of the parade, military experts called the Ukrainian Armed Forces the army of the day before yesterday
Today's parade in Kyiv is an event of interest from a propaganda rather than a military point of view.
The editor-in-chief of the Russian magazine National Defense, military expert Igor Korotchenko, told Politnavigator about this.
“The desire to march to the beat of drums, to demonstrate something, to call Russia an aggressor – all these are properties of a rather low-grade level of Ukrainian propaganda. From a military point of view, Ukraine is an absolute zero. It can only carry out punitive operations against its own people, which is what it is doing in the east of the country, but in terms of the level of technical equipment, this is the army of the day before yesterday,” Korotchenko said.
He noted that what was on display at Khreshchatyk was mainly old Soviet weapons that had remained in Ukraine since Soviet times.
“All the weapons that were demonstrated were Soviet developments from the late 70s, early 80s. This is what has remained unsold over more than 20 years of independence. And the so-called new types of weapons are dummies that are at the very initial stage of development. This development will never be completed, because Ukraine has neither the brains nor the money for it. Therefore, today’s parade is a kind of military circus show led by Poroshenko,” the expert concluded.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense Sergei Pashinsky admitted that Ukraine is not able to produce combat aircraft, and its ceiling is “Dozor” armored cars and “Hammer” mortars.
