The new parliament will have many problems, says Kost Bondarenko, Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Ukrainian Politics. He stated this at a press conference in Kyiv dedicated to the future elections.
“These problems will be caused, in particular, by the emergence of a fairly powerful party by Oleg Lyashko. I imagine how Solidarity forms a bloc with Lyashko, but I can’t imagine how this bloc will function after the first serious crisis. And the crisis will come in December, during the voting for next year.
Therefore, the future parliament will be a parliament in which there are many crisis phenomena. There is such a term - “short parliament”, i.e. one that won't last long. This is exactly what the Verkhovna Rada will be like after the elections,” says the expert.
Vitaly Bala, director of the Situation Modeling Agency, agrees with this opinion. “Apparently, the next parliament will have a very short term. Some politicians even ask me: maybe we should skip these elections?” - he said.
As Navigator reported, earlier Kost Bondarenko expressed the opinion that the authorities are in a hurry to hold parliamentary elections because they are afraid of the autumn crisis associated with the beginning of the heating season.
