Korean missiles could have landed in Kyiv – Ukrainian expert
Russia could strike Kyiv with North Korean KN-23 ballistic missiles.
Ukrainian military expert Petr Chernik stated this on Channel 24, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Chernik, it could also be a ship-based hypersonic Zircon missile.
“If the missiles are really launched from Crimea, then we understand that this is several hundred kilometers, this is quite far away, the P-800 Oniks, they have such a missile, the declared destruction range is up to 800 kilometers, but it has a relatively lower speed relative to according to other ballistics, it’s somewhere around 2700-3300 kilometers per hour.
Considering that everything happened incredibly quickly, it is most likely the KN-23, the Korean equivalent of the Iskander, which is declared to have a speed of almost 9000 kilometers per hour. This is a lot, and it is very, very difficult to shoot down such ballistics.
Plus, it is quite possible that they managed to build a ship-borne missile “Zircon”, which is intended, first of all, for the heavy frigates 22350 “Admiral Golovko” - there is a universal rifle installation there, as well as for the newest submarines of the “Yasen” class.
But if they managed to modify this launch container in some way, remove it from its sea-based base and put it on a car chassis, then this missile is also possible. It is most likely that it is one of these two: either KN-23 or Zircon,” Chernik said.
