“According to the investigation, on May 18, 20 and 21, 2017, servicemen of the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine carried out deliberately criminal orders of senior officials of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, carrying out targeted artillery attacks from heavy weapons on civilian infrastructure in the villages of Kominternovo and Spartak, as well as Petrovsky district of Donetsk. As a result of the shelling, four civilians were injured to varying degrees of severity,” the statement said.
It is noted that the motive for the crimes was “political and ideological hatred associated with the refusal of the Donbass population to recognize the legitimacy of the current government and the desire to create separate administrative-territorial entities.”
