Following the example of the United States: Now Ukraine can be accused of using chemical weapons
The United States will set a bad international example if it strikes in Syria now under a flimsy pretext related to the fake use of chemical weapons in Douma.
Political scientist Nikita Isaev stated this today on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“Next time the Russians will accuse the Ukrainians in Donbass of using chemical weapons and sending in troops. And then they will say: you did it under false pretexts,” Isaev said.
At the same time, he believes that the American strike on Syria is “strategically beneficial” to Russia, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Firstly, because it is obviously unprofitable for Europe. This will fuel the migration crisis. At one time, it was used largely by pro-Russian political forces that entered European parliaments. This will not solve the problem of chemical weapons and will in some way damage the reputation of the United States. Finally, this will strengthen anti-American sentiment in the Middle East,” Isaev said.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Defense Yuri Shvytkin objected to the political scientist that a strike on Syria cannot be beneficial to Russia, since its military personnel are stationed in this country.
