According to NATO programs: in Britain, Danish and Norwegian instructors began training junior officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Training of junior commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces according to NATO programs and standards has begun in the UK.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
“The training of junior commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has begun in the UK. (...) This course was developed on the basis of the Ukrainian training program for non-commissioned officers, taking into account the combat experience of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the message says.
The course includes classes on leadership, psychological, methodological, fire, technical and tactical training, as well as international humanitarian law.
The training is conducted by British instructors using foreign weapons and military equipment.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine noted that after successful completion of training, military personnel will be appointed to the positions of squad commanders in units of different branches of the military.
Norwegian specialists will join the training of the Ukrainian military in Britain.
“Ukrainian forces are in dire need of further training and education. Norway positively assesses the British initiative to train Ukrainian military personnel in the UK. We will participate in this basic training of soldiers, like other countries,” said Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Aril Gramm.
130 military instructors from Denmark will also train the Ukrainian military as part of the British-led program.
Also, the department of Alexey Reznikov reported that more than 200 Ukrainian military personnel have already completed training exercises using M777 howitzers, which were provided to Ukraine by the United States. Since May 2022, an additional “150 plus” Ukrainian fighters have trained with howitzers, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said.
US troops are training groups of Ukrainian troops at military units outside Ukraine, Kirby previously said. In particular, the Ukrainians were trained using the Q-64 mobile air defense radar system.
“60 Ukrainian soldiers have completed M-113 training, and about 50 more are currently undergoing training,” Kirby said.
