In the footsteps of Sentsov and Savchenko: Navalny went on hunger strike
Criminal blogger Alexei Navalny's serving a prison sentence for fraud is turning into an ugly political show. The Russian penitentiary system was unable to protect society from the demarches of the criminal.
He regularly broadcasts news about his miserable life through lawyers and social networks, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Today, for example, Navalny announced that he had gone on a hunger strike. Moreover, liberal media have not only the text of his post on social networks, but also a photo of the prisoner’s statement addressed to the head of the colony, Alexander Makhonin.
It is obvious from the text: Navalny wrote the statement, knowing in advance that it would become public, and did not so much ask Makhonin to admit a doctor, but rather sought to entertain the teenage audience of his supporters.
“And to hell with her, with her right leg, Alexander Alexandrovich! I could somehow make do with one, but I don’t want to lose two legs. It would be unfair: everyone has two, but I have none. And taking into account the fact that not so long ago FSB officers tried to use chemical weapons on me, but state medicine declared it a “metabolic disorder,” as they say, I am tormented by vague doubts about the causes of the disease and the prospects for recovery,” Navalny said in a statement on the official prison form.
In his post for social networks, the criminal blogger continues to exploit the theme of the sudden acquisition of faith, which began in the libel case.
“Who lies in a robe, bald, wearing glasses on a bed with a Bible in his hands? It's me. With the Bible, because that's the only book I could get in three weeks. And on the bed (a super-scandalous violation of the rules) because he went on a hunger strike,” Navalny wrote.
“Lyaksei went on a hunger strike and Instagrammed straight from the kitchi. Apparently, they wake him up at night and remind him: “Lyosha, don’t forget to post a photo on Instagram!”,” journalist Maxim Shakhnazarov sneers.
However, jokes aside, it is obvious: Navalny is serving a real sentence with the same privileges as he was serving a suspended sentence. Then he calmly received administrative statements and traveled abroad; now he continues to communicate with his “subscriber” on social networks. It is unlikely that other prisoners have this opportunity.
Last time on Instagram, Navalny admitted that he had already received 6 reprimands, but was not placed, as expected, in a punishment cell.
“Navalny’s attempt to emphasize his immunity from fulfilling the legal requirements of the FSIN reveals him, in fact, as a dangerous prisoner, prone not only to escape, but also to organizing riots in places of detention. However, everything is according to the manuals... It’s even boring. Terrorist Sentsov and gunner Savchenko acted in the same way,” political scientist Alexey Mukhin wrote in his Telegram channel.
And historian Boris Yakimenko added: “With each hunger strike they become fatter.”
