The Islamist threat is spreading across Ukraine
An Islamist threat is spreading across Ukraine, which was started by the Majlis battalion created in the Kherson region, formed from fugitive members of banned extremist organizations.
The official representative of the DPR operational command, Daniil Bezsonov, announced this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In 2015, a volunteer Crimean Tatar battalion was created in Ukraine, which was based in Kherson, and is still located there. The censorship of the Ukrainian media, of course, suppressed information about what the militants of this battalion were doing in the Kherson region. But, nevertheless, in 2016 and 2017, information leaked out, and there were serious concerns that the locals could rebel there, and there would be their own small civil war, already in the Kherson region. Because these militants were rampant there,” the military man noted.
“In addition, modern Ukraine has become an excellent and comfortable place for many terrorist organizations, such as Hizb ut-Tahrir, an Islamic so-called liberation party, banned and recognized as a terrorist organization both in Russia and in other European countries.
Also Al-Raid and other extremist terrorist organizations. so there is nothing surprising here. Ukraine is now a territory of anarchy and lawlessness, and such organizations and elements have found a very good and comfortable place there,” added the DPR representative.
