According to the Ukrainian rake: What is the threat of horse racing in Yekaterinburg
The vast majority of those protesting against the construction of the Orthodox cathedral in Yekaterinburg may not be supporters of the coup, but, as in the case of Ukraine, the crowd is controlled by an active minority of radicals with their own agenda.
Russian publicist Nikolai Starikov said this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ninety-nine percent of Yekaterinburg residents who came out to defend the square - they came out to defend the square. But the most important thing is that the organizers of all this are the one or two percent who oppose the temple,” he noted.
“This is about the same as what happened on the Maidan - one hundred thousand people came out for “the European choice, a visa-free regime.” But 1% of the militants were for a bloody revolution, for a coup d'etat. And they determined the course of events,” the expert added.
