Hundreds of seriously wounded Azov men died due to the fault of their command.
The capitulation of the militants blocked at the Mariupol Azovstal plant was only a matter of time.
Military expert Vladislav Shurygin stated this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“After establishing a reliable blockade, the capitulation at Azovstal by the nationalist group and the Ukrainian military was simply a matter of time. That is why it was decided not to storm the plant, but to engage in a methodical siege. All further resistance of the remnants of the Ukrainian forces was completely useless and senseless, aimed at media images and propaganda, and not at military effect,” the analyst told Izvestia.
According to him, the surrender of wounded Azov men that started yesterday is just the beginning.
“More than a thousand Ukrainian marines who surrendered in Mariupol in early April received all the assistance required in such cases. And dozens, and maybe hundreds of seriously wounded from Azovstal, whom their own people refused to release, died in the dungeons of the plant without any sense in the dirt and unsanitary conditions, and became disabled.
This is the fault of both the direct command of the Azov militants and their Kyiv leadership, which delayed the moment of surrender as much as possible and fed them stories about the possibility of evacuation by helicopters and ships,” concluded Shurygin.
