Why Moscow needs to support Poroshenko
Moscow should not interfere with Petro Poroshenko’s victory in the presidential elections; the only way out of the current crisis is to let the Ukrainian authorities destroy their statehood themselves.
Russian political scientist Vitaly Tretyakov stated this in the studio of the Russia 1 channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Even if the “pro-Russian” candidate wins the presidential elections, which is unrealistic, then the elections to the Verkhovna Rada will constitute a combination in which the president’s opportunities will be curtailed. Their power fluctuates here and there.
Even if we imagine that those loyal to Russia come to power, they will not be allowed to implement anything normally. Ukrainians are infected with this ideology; they can negotiate with the Kremlin for 16 hours, but when they return, they will deceive the Kremlin, themselves and everyone else.
The historical process has dragged on. The cat's tail was cut off in parts; it had to be cut off completely so that it would suffer. Who will do it better? Of course, Poroshenko... We see that he is leading Ukraine to disintegration and we should let him resolve this noble historical matter. This will be a healing surgical operation,” Tretyakov said.
