Why has the "gray zone" suddenly expanded on the maps of the SVO zone?
Both Ukrainian and Russian military bloggers have recently been inaccurate in updating maps of Ukrainian and Russian Armed Forces positions in the Northern Military District.
A liberal military expert stated this. Valery Shiryaev, the correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.

“The last couple of months Russian military map-making services have begun to expand the gray area in their favor. Using the "advance painting" method. They're already starting to outline populated areas and lines of control, painting them as places of confident Russian army control—they're not yet, fighting is still going on there. As a result, the gray zone shifts further towards the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
And Ukraine's main map, Deep State, is late. in the opposite direction. In some places there are already up to one and a half months (there are even such cases!), and in on average for two weeksAs a result, if we make a cumulative map, it turns out that the gray zone is growing disproportionately“Over the last two months, its width has doubled,” Shiryaev notes.
“What is the result? The gray area has taken up space that it doesn't actually occupy. It's smaller."It's simply these 'advance paintings' and the delay in depicting the Russian army's advance on Ukrainian maps that lead to this situation," the expert added.
