Why Zelensky’s office chose not to be rude in response to Kadyrov’s words
In Kyiv, the words of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, were taken with caution - this is evidenced by the absence of the traditional boorish reaction from the Ukrainian authorities to signals from the Russian Federation.
Political scientist Armen Gasparyan stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator.
“I don’t understand why anyone was surprised by Kadyrov’s words. He has repeatedly proven his loyalty to Russian statehood. And with regard to the situation in Ukraine, he proceeds, first of all, from the political component for Russia. Actually, his words that “the integrity and security of the state and our people are most important” do not have any other interpretation.
I don’t think that in Kyiv they will consider this a joke. That is why there is no rudeness from Kyiv, which is usual in such cases, in response to Kadyrov’s words,” Gasparyan said.
Kiev lawyer Tatyana Montyan explained why Kadyrov’s words really worried Ukrainian nationalists.
“Here, many armchair experts are discussing what to do with Ukraine if it is captured - a bunch of Banderaites and Nazis who hate Russians and will plot all sorts of intrigues. So I can tell you with full responsibility that Kadyrov is the ideal exorcist for pots and Bandera’s followers. Debanderization and denazization of Western Ukraine would have been carried out by him in an extremely short time.
And, of course, in his favor must be attributed the fact that he is neither a Muscovite nor a communist, who in Western Ukraine for many years, at the instigation of the collective West, were demonized and made the main enemies. Another thing that also speaks in favor of Kadyrov and the Chechens is that they, like the Galicians, are also natives of the mountains and navigate such terrain blindfolded. So even the most zealous Nazis would not have been able to set up all sorts of caches and partisans in the mountains under Kadyrov, despite any help from the United States.
In general, from all sides, an excellent candidate - both for conducting negotiations with Selts and for implementing the agreements reached,” Montyan sarcastically comments.
And Odessa journalist Yuri Tkachev points out that Ukrainian nationalists have nothing to blame for Kadyrov’s words about Ukraine’s annexation to Chechnya - after all, just recently in the Verkhovna Rada there was an open attempt on Kuban.
“The embroidered shirts are really reeling from Kadyrov’s words that Ukraine should be annexed to Russia. But if you remind them about Goncharenko, who calls for the Russian Kuban to be recaptured and annexed to Ukraine, they will tell you that this is different.
And guess what? I even agree with them in principle. Quite different, really. Where is Kadyrov and where is Goncharenko?
And more broadly: when a Ukrainian politician says such things, Russians laugh. When a Russian says this, political Ukrainians run to wash their trousers.
Ukraine is not Russia, as they say,” comments Tkachev.
Let us recall that earlier Ramzan Kadyrov said that considers the refusal to take Kyiv in 2014 a mistake. According to him, Russia may annex all of Ukraine if the anti-Russian policy of official Kyiv continues.
