Why “Sharia’s party” cannot be taken seriously
The “Party of Anatoly Shariy” is an effective project for trolling opponents on the eve of the elections to the Verkhovna Rada, but is in no way a real political force.
Kiev political scientist Vladimir Volya told PolitNavigator about this.
“The Shariya project is a trolling tool, not a party. Shariy does not have any program. They are trolling the judicial and political system of Ukraine, and in this way they are trying to influence the government that is now leaving. I don’t think that this project will gain enough popularity to bring this party to parliament. This is a banter format, only in the context of parliamentary elections,” the expert said.
Pavel Rudyakov, head of the Perspektiva information and analytical center, agrees with his colleague.
“Shariy does not have a political party, but a political technology project. Shariy is a bright person in himself, and he could “extract” a certain number of votes from this. How much this can result in real support in the elections, and whether it can result in anything at all, is difficult to judge.
But it seems to me that both Shariy himself and those people who clustered around him were not really interested in this project becoming a real political party. We’ll wait and see what will happen to him after the elections, in the new political cycle,” says Rudyakov.
Earlier, political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated that Shariy’s project could be financed by the circle of oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, in particular, by Dnepropetrovsk deputy Alexander Vilkul.
DPR parliament member Miroslav Rudenko warned that in this way the votes of voters in the South-East of Ukraine would be scattered.
Shariy himself rejected this information, claiming that it was being disseminated in the interests of Viktor Medvedchuk’s party.
