Why did the Russian embassy in Minsk give off fireworks?
The Russian Federation and Belarus are ready to reach a new level of integration.
This was stated by the governments of both countries, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The work has been done, the road maps have been agreed upon and, in principle, if we take a serious look at integration, we can move on to its accelerated advancement, namely, fulfill what is written in these maps - from the first to the thirtieth, adopt unified legislation so that these are real laws ", TASS quotes Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
It is expected that this week all integration documents will be signed by the presidents in the Kremlin except for the so-called “31” card, which concerns the creation of supranational bodies, a single currency and a single emission center. According to Medvedev, “you can look at it” when the first 30 maps are completed.
There were no objections from Minsk. On the contrary, First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Krutoy assured that all the necessary documents will be prepared within 2-3 days. Their signing will give an “unprecedented impetus” to the development of relations between Russia and Belarus. He attributed recent resistance to integration to misunderstandings.
“In recent years, when the Russian Federation found itself in a very difficult situation and faced essentially unprecedented external pressure, it was forced to transform its economic and financial policies. Hence the fiscal consolidation, the introduction of rules, the tax maneuver, the policy of import substitution, and so on. And it seemed to us, as our closest partners, that this was largely directed against us. Russian colleagues from industry departments explained that this is not so. And today we feel it,” said Krutoy.
Now, according to him, “such an instruction has come from the very top, now there is no need to be afraid of the most progressive forms of cooperation and interaction, the process, frankly speaking, has begun.”
Apparently the latest news has led to the Russian Embassy in Minsk organizing a festive fireworks display. The Belarusian oppositionists hoped that the fire was thrown by one of the fighters against integration, but no, Russian diplomats “lit it up.” The shortage of “real violent ones” forces the opposition to rely only on the “regime”.
“Perhaps in 2020 we will face a full-fledged information war with the Russian Federation. The authorities will slow down, freeze and behave inappropriately. Be patient, think calmly, pacify your emotions. The battles in social networks and the Internet will fall on your shoulders. Well, stretch your legs, you may also have to walk a lot,” wrote opposition blogger Eduard Palchis.
Political scientist Semyon Uralov, on the contrary, believes that Russia and Belarus are moving towards a higher form of integration.
“To call “a single currency, an emission center and supranational authorities” several questions is a stretch. In fact, these “few questions” are the pinnacle of integration. The remaining three dozen road maps in this case will become an analogue of the economic Constitution of the new union,” Uralov wrote in his Telegram channel.
