Why Russia saved Lukashenko, but he didn’t even recognize Crimea for a whole year
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko expects that the West will again ally with Russia, and the services of Minsk will once again be needed by Moscow’s enemies.
Andrei Suzdaltsev, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of World Economy and International Politics at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, stated this on the YouTube channel “Politwera,” PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Lukashenko hopes that hatred of Moscow and hatred of Putin will prevail, and both the West and the East will need him again,” Suzdaltsev suggested.
“That’s why Crimea doesn’t recognize and the LDPR doesn’t recognize it,” the presenter noted.
“Yes, that’s why he stubbornly doesn’t do any of this,” the political scientist agreed. He hasn’t taken a single step towards Russia this year, not even a millimeter. He waits for them to hook up again. That's why Geneva was crazy for him. He was very afraid of Geneva...
Panic is not panic, and the West waved that, you see, sanctions have been introduced there, but there are holes. I I think we will soon be surprised by a lot in the Western vector of Belarusian politics", added Suzdaltsev.
