Why Russia tolerates supplies to Ukraine from CSTO members
The information that appeared in the media about the transfer of MiG military aircraft to Kiev from Azerbaijan is unpleasant news for Russia, but it will not break off relations with Baku because of this, just as it was previously forced to tolerate supplies of Kazakh fuel to Ukraine.
The adviser to the deceased head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko, political strategist Alexander Kazakov, stated this in his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I haven’t seen any confirmation of the information regarding the MiG-29 to Ukraine from Azerbaijan, but even if so, we have red lines in relation to the CIS countries and even the CSTO countries, and the main red line is to not allow these countries to be drawn into the game against us . Our fundamental enemies, primarily the Anglo-Saxons, and their minions in Central Asia, the Near and Middle East, they can make sure that de jure our allies turn out to be our enemies in fact.
A very difficult internal struggle, invisible on the surface, is going on for Kazakhstan. An equally complex game is taking place in the Russia-Armenia-Azerbaijan triangle. All of Central Asia is in fact now the scene of a very serious struggle, if not war, only without guns and rifles. Therefore, we set the “red lines” for ourselves here. We must not allow any of our nominal allies to side with the enemy and become a channel for causing damage to us,” the expert said.
According to him, reality dictates such conditions that it is always necessary to weigh the balance of gains and losses in a given situation.
“Therefore, if someone, for example, Azerbaijan “MiG” for Ukraine, if Kazakhstan ensures the supply of fuel and lubricants to Ukraine, this is something we can come to terms with today, without allowing large losses. These MiGs will sooner or later end up on the ground, shot down. Should we break off relations with Azerbaijan now because of these MiGs? Guys, do you seriously think so? Is this really the price issue? Blow up the South Caucasus because for a few moments it was unclear what state Ukraine was in? Every time you need to weigh the balance of gains and losses,” concluded Kazakov.
