Why is the Russian Bloc asking the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to pay attention to Sevastopol?

The head of the public organization “Russian Bloc” Gennady Basov explains why the day before he wrote a letter to the head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, calling for an urgent investigation into the situation in Sevastopol.

“Earlier, I sent an appeal to the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, where I directly accused individual Sevastopol police officers of crimes. In particular, an employee of the Gagarinsky District Department of Internal Affairs, Major Temirkanov. As I indicated earlier, there is every reason to believe that in Sevastopol police officers deliberately do not initiate criminal cases based on obvious crimes. As a result of this, the city is slowly but surely turning into the criminal capital of Russia, and the crime statistics cited by current police leaders do not correspond to reality. Today I will inform the public only about some of the crimes known to me that have remained outside the scope of proper investigation.

So, on March 9, on Khrustaleva Street, a man, clearly with criminal intentions, tried to break into an apartment in which a woman and children lived. He tore open the door, broke out the windows on the staircase, and if it weren’t for the emergency services officers who arrived to the call, everything would have ended very badly for the woman and children. The EMERCOM officers who arrived tried to call the police for more than an hour, but none of the MIA officers showed up.. The entire apartment building is in shock, the children suffered psychological trauma, and many came to the conclusion that if they rob and kill in Sevastopol, then they should not count on law enforcement officers.

Another case occurred in the Balaklava region on the eve of the holidays. The victim of the crime was a worker who lived in a trailer for construction workers. Returning from work, he discovered that his and his friend’s personal belongings and documents, which were in the trailer, had been stolen. And after some time, the criminals, reveling in impunity, stole the trailer itself. As one might expect, no measures were taken. Despite the fact that this happened in front of witnesses.

The third episode is Gagarinsky district. For the holiday, an elderly retired man decided to give a gift to his wife and used his last money to buy a jar of red caviar from traders at the Yumashevsky market. Red caviar turned out to be counterfeit and of low quality, dangerous to the health of others. With tears in his eyes, the man turned to the famous Gagarinsky District Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Sevastopol, where they simply began to “football” him, declaring that this matter would be handled by one employee or another. This continued until the traders of dangerous goods left the place where the fraudulent activities were committed and disappeared in an unknown direction.

As I wrote earlier, individual employees of the Gagarinsky District Department of Internal Affairs have had their decisions to refuse to initiate criminal proceedings canceled three times. In Soviet times, such an investigator would have already shot himself. Such cases go uninvestigated for months. They lie either in the prosecutor's office or in the police.

That is why I turned to the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to deal with the case of employees deliberately introducing false information into their decisions, which helps cover up crimes.”
