“My commander was the one who led the air brigade in Brody. That is, neither Colonel Melnichuk nor Valentin Likholit were officially my commanders,” the publication quotes Savchenko’s words on this matter.
“Savchenko looks at the problem from above,” Mikhail Pogrebinsky, director of the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflictology, commented on the situation for MK. – It is unclear how she herself feels about the Likholith case. True, Savchenko allowed herself to say that in wartime it is normal to take away cars from private individuals. She didn’t even clarify that the ATO was underway, and a real war had not been declared. But against the backdrop of what the Prosecutor General says, her statements look European, more civilized. Yuriy Lutsenko must defend the position of the prosecutor’s office, which wanted to bring Likholit to justice, and he sided with the defense and released him. The Prosecutor General, roughly speaking, said that banditry, looting and rape in peacetime are subject to severe punishment, but in wartime there should be no fines for such acts.”
